Booking and Appointment Terms

Booking Confirmation

A service booking is confirmed when Gearbox Repair Sharjah acknowledges the booking request by phone, WhatsApp, or email and provides the customer with an appointment date and time. Submission of a booking request through the website form alone does not constitute a confirmed appointment until acknowledgment is received from Gearbox Repair Sharjah.

Booking Information Accuracy

Customers are responsible for providing accurate vehicle information at the time of booking, including the correct vehicle make, model, year, transmission type, and fault description. Inaccurate vehicle information provided at booking may result in incorrect parts being sourced or incorrect diagnostic tools being prepared, extending the workshop visit time. Gearbox Repair Sharjah is not liable for delays caused by inaccurate booking information provided by the customer.

Appointment Rescheduling and Cancellation

Customers requesting appointment rescheduling or cancellation notify Gearbox Repair Sharjah by phone, WhatsApp, or email at info@gearboxrepairsharjah.ae with a minimum of 24 hours notice before the confirmed appointment time. Cancellations received with less than 24 hours notice where parts have been specifically ordered for the vehicle may be subject to restocking conditions communicated to the customer at the time of cancellation.

Vehicle Drop-Off

Customers delivering a vehicle to the Gearbox Repair Sharjah workshop confirm they are the registered owner of the vehicle or hold the registered owner’s written authorization to consent to diagnostic and repair work being performed. Gearbox Repair Sharjah reserves the right to request proof of vehicle ownership or written authorization before commencing any diagnostic or repair work on the vehicle.

Diagnosis and Repair Terms

Diagnostic Assessment

Every vehicle received at the Gearbox Repair Sharjah workshop undergoes a full transmission diagnostic assessment before any repair work begins. The diagnostic assessment identifies the root cause of the reported fault using electronic scan tools, hydraulic pressure testing, fluid condition analysis, and road test evaluation. Diagnostic findings are communicated to the customer in writing before repair work is authorized.

Written Estimate and Customer Authorization

Gearbox Repair Sharjah provides a written fixed-price repair estimate to the customer following the diagnostic assessment. Repair work commences only after the customer provides written or verbal authorization of the estimate. The price stated in the authorized estimate is the price charged at vehicle collection. No additional charges are introduced between estimate authorization and vehicle collection without the customer’s prior written consent.

Estimate Revisions

In circumstances where additional faults are identified during the repair process that were not detectable during the initial diagnostic assessment, Gearbox Repair Sharjah contacts the customer before proceeding with additional work. A revised written estimate covering the additional work is provided to the customer. The customer’s authorization of the revised estimate is required before additional work proceeds. Customers who decline additional work are charged only for the work authorized in the original estimate.

Parts and Components

Gearbox Repair Sharjah uses OEM-grade or certified quality transmission components sourced from verified UAE automotive parts suppliers on all repair work. Where a customer specifically requests the use of a named parts brand or original manufacturer components, Gearbox Repair Sharjah confirms availability and any price difference before commencing the repair. Parts removed from the vehicle during repair are available for customer inspection on request before disposal.

Repair Completion Time

Gearbox Repair Sharjah provides an estimated repair completion time at the time of estimate authorization. Minor services, including fluid changes, take a few hours. Solenoid and sensor repairs take 1 to 2 days. Full transmission rebuilds take 3 to 5 days. Estimated completion times are provided in good faith based on the identified fault, parts availability, and current workshop capacity. Gearbox Repair Sharjah is not liable for delays caused by parts sourcing delays from third-party suppliers or discovery of additional faults during the repair process.

Pricing and Payment Terms

Fixed Pricing

All prices quoted by Gearbox Repair Sharjah are fixed at the time of written estimate authorization. The price confirmed in the written estimate is the final price charged at vehicle collection, inclusive of all parts, labour, and post-repair testing. No callout fees, weekend surcharges, public holiday premiums, or hidden assessment charges are applied to any booking at Gearbox Repair Sharjah.

Payment Methods

Payment for completed repair work is made at the time of vehicle collection from the Gearbox Repair Sharjah workshop. Accepted payment methods are communicated to the customer at the time of booking confirmation. Gearbox Repair Sharjah reserves the right to retain the vehicle until full payment of the authorized repair cost is received.

Disputed Charges

Customers who dispute a charge on their invoice notify Gearbox Repair Sharjah in writing at info@gearboxrepairsharjah.ae within 7 calendar days of the invoice date. Gearbox Repair Sharjah reviews the dispute and responds in writing within 10 working days of receipt. Disputed amounts are investigated against the authorized written estimate and the service record for the vehicle.

Unpaid Invoices

Invoices remaining unpaid beyond 30 calendar days of the vehicle collection date may be subject to recovery action under UAE commercial law. Gearbox Repair Sharjah reserves the right to recover outstanding invoice amounts through UAE civil court proceedings where informal resolution is not achieved within the 30-day period.

Warranty Terms

Warranty Coverage

Every completed repair at Gearbox Repair Sharjah carries a written warranty covering parts and labour. The warranty period and covered components are specified on the warranty certificate issued at vehicle collection. The warranty covers manufacturing defects in the parts installed and workmanship faults arising from the repair performed at the Gearbox Repair Sharjah workshop under normal UAE vehicle operating conditions.

Warranty Exclusions

The Gearbox Repair Sharjah warranty does not cover 6 categories of damage or failure:

  1. Damage caused by road accidents, vehicle collisions, or external physical impact occurring after the vehicle is collected from the workshop
  2. Damage caused by the customer or a third party attempting to repair, adjust, or modify components covered by the warranty without prior authorization from Gearbox Repair Sharjah
  3. Failure caused by the use of incorrect transmission fluid type or non-specified lubricants introduced into the transmission system after vehicle collection
  4. Normal wear and tear on consumable components, including transmission filters and fluid, where the vehicle is operated beyond the recommended service interval
  5. Faults in vehicle systems not covered by the original repair estimate that were identified and communicated to the customer before vehicle collection
  6. Damage caused by continued vehicle operation after a transmission warning light or fault code related to the repaired system appears on the instrument cluster

Warranty Claims

Warranty claims are submitted to Gearbox Repair Sharjah in writing at info@gearboxrepairsharjah.ae within the warranty period specified on the warranty certificate. The warranty claim includes the customer’s name, vehicle registration, service date, invoice number, and description of the fault observed. Gearbox Repair Sharjah acknowledges warranty claims within 3 working days and schedules a diagnostic assessment to verify the claim within 7 working days of acknowledgment.

Warranty Repair

Where a warranty claim is verified as a covered fault, Gearbox Repair Sharjah repairs or replaces the affected transmission component at zero cost to the customer, including parts and labour. The warranty repair is completed within the same timeframe as a standard repair of equivalent scope. The warranty period on the replacement component runs from the date of the warranty repair, not from the original service date.

Customer Responsibilities

Customers using Gearbox Repair Sharjah services accept 5 responsibilities:

Vehicle Condition at Drop-Off

Customers deliver vehicles to the Gearbox Repair Sharjah workshop in a condition that allows safe movement into and out of the workshop. Gearbox Repair Sharjah is not responsible for pre-existing damage, mechanical faults, or vehicle condition issues present at the time of drop-off that are unrelated to the transmission system being repaired. The vehicle condition at drop-off is recorded in the service record.

Accurate Fault Description

Customers provide an accurate description of the transmission fault at the time of booking and during the diagnostic consultation. Withholding relevant information about recent repair attempts, modifications, or known vehicle faults may affect the accuracy of the diagnostic assessment and the effectiveness of the repair performed at the workshop.

Timely Vehicle Collection

Customers collect their vehicle from the Gearbox Repair Sharjah workshop within 48 hours of repair completion notification. Vehicles remaining uncollected beyond 7 calendar days of repair completion notification without prior arrangement may be subject to a storage charge communicated to the customer in writing before it is applied.

Post-Repair Operating Instructions

Customers follow any post-repair operating instructions provided by Gearbox Repair Sharjah technicians at the time of vehicle collection. Failure to follow post-repair instructions, including transmission fluid warm-up procedures and gear engagement guidelines during the break-in period, may affect warranty coverage where the failure is directly caused by non-compliance with the provided instructions.

Reporting Faults Promptly

Customers report any recurrence of the repaired fault or any new fault related to the repaired transmission system to Gearbox Repair Sharjah promptly and before the expiry of the warranty period. Continued vehicle operation with a known recurring transmission fault after the warranty period expires does not extend warranty coverage.

Liability Limitations

Workshop Liability

Gearbox Repair Sharjah accepts liability for damage to a customer’s vehicle caused directly by the workshop’s repair work, confirmed through the service record and diagnostic findings. Liability is limited to the cost of rectifying the damage caused, up to the value of the original repair invoice for the affected transmission service.

Consequential Loss

Gearbox Repair Sharjah is not liable for consequential or indirect losses arising from transmission faults or repair delays, including lost business income, travel costs, hire vehicle costs, or personal inconvenience, except where UAE consumer protection law requires otherwise.

Pre-Existing Vehicle Faults

Gearbox Repair Sharjah is not liable for faults in vehicle systems unrelated to the transmission repair performed at the workshop. Pre-existing faults identified during the diagnostic assessment are communicated to the customer before repair work begins. Customers who decline repair of identified pre-existing faults accept responsibility for those faults and their consequences during subsequent vehicle operation.

Force Majeure

Gearbox Repair Sharjah is not liable for failure to deliver services within estimated timeframes where the delay is caused by circumstances beyond the workshop’s reasonable control, including parts supply disruption, extreme weather events, utility failures, or regulatory restrictions affecting workshop operations in Sharjah.
